I’d like to display a gallery filtering by photoset id (album) instead of tags.
All of my content is organized in albums – the order in which the pictures are displayed is very important. At the moment i’m doing with tagging all pictures in a given photoset with a specific tag, but the resulting gallery does not respect picture order.
Most serious photographers like to carefully craft the picture viewing experience – picture to picture flow, how to tell a story and the general dynamics of the sequence are affected by the order in which the pictures are displayed.
I sincerely hope you can find the time to implement this, as this is a great no-brainer plugin that works wonderfully!
The current version of Slickr Flickr uses the Flickr RSS feed which operates only on tagged photos. Slickr Flickr does allow you to sort the tagged photos by date, by title and by description. See //www.slickrflickr.com/414/how-to-sort-your-flickr-slideshow-photos/. In that example I put a number at the start of the photo description to force the photos to appear in the order I want. I recognize that this is not an ideal solution but may give you reasonable results.
I plan to look again at supporting photosets a bit later this summer as Flickr has recently introduced some new features which make sets accessible through RSS. Since Slickr Flickr 1.14 release in June 2010 now has limited support for photosets: the 20 most recent photos may be selected. This feature will be reconsidered again in 2011
Since Slickr Flickr 1.22
released in February 2011 you can fetch up to 50 photos from a photoset in the standard edition and an unlimited number of photos using the Pro edition. Both edition allow you to control the sort order by date taken, date uploaded or the date added to the photoset.
