I am having the same problem only when I use the ‘ items=”5″ ‘ param in the text widget on the sidebar, I get the following message:
Error fetching Flickr photos: A feed could not be found at http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?lang=en-us&format=feed-rss_200&[email protected]&per_page=5
All of the photos do show up if i remove the items=”n” tag.
This is a great plugin, thanks so much!
Thanks for your feedback.
Before trying in a text widget let’s try the gallery in a post.
Viewing Group Photos With Items Specified
slickr-flickr id="[email protected]" group="y" items="5" type="gallery"
This gives the same result as on your website. As there are less then 20 photos then Flickr RSS feed is used
I think the issue is the fact you have disallowed public access to your group
When I visit http://www.flickr.com/groups/[email protected]/pool/ which is the source of your photos I cannot see any photos. Slickr Flickr is similarly unable to see the photos which you have made private to members.
Viewing Group Photos With Items Unspecified
When you do not specify items in the slickr-flickr command the default value as specified on Slickr Flickr Admin panel is used instead. Since this gave different results I presume your default value is greater then 20 as this will force Flickr to use the API rather than RSS.
slickr-flickr id="[email protected]" group="y" type="gallery"
As you can see this works (not sure why) and returns 8 photos – I assume that is all that are available.
This gives the surprising result that photos are available via the Flickr API but not via Flickr RSS or directly on Flickr itself. (This might be just a timing issue as Flickr could still be synchronizing servers)
Viewing Group Photos Less Than 20 Items Specified Using the API
Anyway you can force the Flickr API to be used by specifying use_key=”y” so you can ask for the number of photos you actually want
slickr-flickr id="[email protected]" group="y" use_key="y" items="5" type="gallery"
