Does the pro version allow me to set the order of my images from the plugin area? I can set at flickr, but it does not present them to me that way on my site. Please advise.
Unless you tell it otherwise Slickr Flickr displays photos in the exact same order as it receives them from Flickr – and that order depends on whether tagged photos or photoset photos are being fetched, how many photos are being fetched and what other params are supplied (e.g before=”today” gives you most recent photos first)
On top of that you can get Slickr Flickr to sort the photos it fetches from Flickr using the “sort” and “direction” parameters
This is what I am trying to accomplish. I want my gallery to show on my page in the order of my flickr account exactly. Here is what I have done.
I uploaded all at same time and arranged by uploaded (newest first) in flickr
and I arranged them in order I want them to show on page as photo 1-12
Here is the short code in I put in my themes page – [ slickr-flickr tag=”its a science” “page=1” “items=12” “type=galleria slideshow with thumbnails below” “direction=accending” ]
The URL shows me different? http://priscilladanielledesigns.com/gallery/design-its-a-science/
If you look at page it still does not show in the order. Is this something I am doing wrong with the short code explanation perameter. I would appreciate your view.
Firstly please note that quotation marks – the example you gave had invalid syntax; the quotation marks should be placed around the value of each parameter; not around the name/value pair
In other words:
“name=value” is invalid
name=”value” is valid
Secondly, you can select either from the photoset called Its A Science, or from the tag itsascience.
If the photos all had the same upload time then sorting by date is probably not reliable.
Use PhotoSets for Absolute Sort Order Control
If you want absolute control over the order of the photos I would suggest using a photoset. Flickr then allows you to change the order of photos by dragging them into position. Then use
slickr-flickr id="[email protected]" search="sets" set="72157628921072951" use_key="y"
By specifying the use_key=”y” it forces the API to be used and this preserves the same order as the photoset appears on Flickr

Sorting By Date Using Flickr
If you had want to sort by date with the most recent first then use:
slickr-flickr id="[email protected]" tag="its a science" items="12" type="gallery" before="today" date_type="taken"
As you can see form the screenshot below, the date based approach is not particularly useful if all photos were uploaded at the same time; however by specifying date=”taken” you use the date the photograph was taken as provided by the camera which can be more useful in some circumstances

Sorting By Title Using Slickr Flickr Sort
The other thing you can do is put numbers in the the photo title or description and then sort by either of those
slickr-flickr id="[email protected]" tag="its a science" items="12" type="slideshow" sort="title" captions="on" bottom="20"
a. - This Scientist wanted a new kitchen with a modern look, clean lines and one that is fit for entertaining friends and family. This scientist wanted a new kitchen with a modern look, clean lines and one that is fit for entertaining friends and fami
b. - Beautiful finishes are highlighted with ambient lighting.
c. - This edge detail compliments the edge detail on the countertop for a look that is harmonious.

e. - Clean lines and detail, detail, detail.

l. - A custom designed, modern staircase.
Using Flickr Photo Titles and Descriptions
In this example your titles are quite long. I added a bottom margin of 20 pixels to create more room for the long titke. It might be better using both the title and description.
So for the first photo we might have:
Title: 01 – Kitchen
Description: This Scientist wanted clean lines and smooth texture in his kitchen. Add lots of family, great friends, a little Ouzo and a lot of laughter for unforgettable memories in this kitchen fit for entertaining. (A1)
You would then set the parameter: descriptions=”on” to display the description below the title.
